U. S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a reminder to the Trade about the adjustment of certain COBRA customs user fees and limitations for Fiscal Year 2022 as previously announced in Federal Register 86 FR 40864 (July 29, 2021). These adjustments will be applied to importations effective October 1, 2021. Please note that the new amount will be in effect for a summary pre-filed prior to October 1, 2021 if the relevant entry date is on or after October 1, 2021.
The adjustments include, but are not limited to:
- Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) for Formal Entry (499) limits changed to minimum $27.75 / maximum $538.40; but the ad valorem rate of 0.3464% will NOT change.
- Fee for Informal Entry or Release (automated and not prepared by CBP personnel) (311) changed to $2.22;
